Roco 10833 Z21 Start DCC Digital control set c/w NZ Power pack
The Roco Z21 start unit offers everything required to get started in DCC control immediately. This economically priced operating system offers many possibilities.
Having owned a NCE Powercab (which is a fine unit) for many years, I find the Roco multiMAUS hand controller to be a refreshingly simple unit to operate. Once programmed, which takes a matter of minutes following the Instructions supplied in Kiwi English, you will appreciate the following attributes: The hand controller is light and easy to hold. It has a backlit LED display (which is adjustable). There is a clip on the back so you can hang it off a screw placed at various positions around your baseboard (no special holder required) It has a rotary knob with a firm central stop indent. Many train modellers graduating from a 12V DC (Analogue) system will like this, rather than the up and down speed increase/decrease buttons on other brands. When you switch on the multiMAUS, the Last Loco used will appear, and scrolling through the Library of your programmed Locos is just so easy. I.E. no need to key in in the Loco number each time you change Locos!
I should also mention it has the facility to use Alpha/numerical ... so you can programme in some letters as well as numbers...... no more peering down on your locos to read the minute Cab numbers you have programmed into your controller. A large number of Locomotive addresses can be operated with direct input; 64 can be stored in a data bank and labelled with names and numbers for quick recollection. You can use up to 31 functions (including Headlights) if the model has a suitable DCC decoder. And you can also easily switch numerous points (turnouts) or signals ..... if you wish.
