The CIRCUITRON AR-1 is a automatic polarity reverser designed for reliable operation in model railway reverse loops, point-to-point layouts, display tracks, and test track environments. Using an integrated circuit design, it automatically detects and corrects polarity, ensuring smooth and uninterrupted operation across reversing sections without manual intervention.
Capable of handling loads up to 5 amps, the AR-1 is suitable for virtually all model railway scales and provides dependable performance for both 12V DC and command-style layouts that require automatic polarity management. Its compact design allows easy installation into a wide range of layout configurations.
The AR-1 includes two opto-sensors for standard installation configurations, enabling accurate detection and automatic switching in most typical applications. For added flexibility, optional pushbutton inputs can be incorporated to allow manual polarity control when required.
The unit is constructed on a compact 2" x 3" printed circuit board and requires a filtered 12–15V DC power supply for correct operation. It is designed to integrate cleanly into existing layout wiring systems and is compatible with a range of CIRCUITRON power supply modules.
