Layout Concepts DCP-CB1IP Cobalt IP Analogue "Slow action" Point motor - all Gauges
Tired of the noisy Thwack or buzz from your point motors? For quiet and realistically slow point operation, choose the Cobalt IP analogue point motor.
The Cobalt iP Analogue “Intelligent Power” Point (Turnout) Motor is supplied with all installation accessories including mounting screws and very popular double-sided foam mounting pad which holds the unit in place until you can insert the mounting screws. Wiring is a breeze to fit with the tensioned wire mounting block ..... no soldering is necessary.
Suitable for all gauges from large to very small.
The Cobalt iP’s super-low static current draw means very low power bus loading and the Cobalt iP is also able to cope with a very wide range of DC power supply voltages. We recommend 9~12V regulated power but any voltage from 7 to 23 volts is acceptable. Similarly, connection via an accessory decoder to a wide range of DCC track voltage is also OK – covering the full spectrum of DCC standards, 9~24V. If you wish to convert it tor DCC control we strongly recommend that you use the ADiA decoders to add additional functionality not available from other brands.
The Cobalt iP is supplied with the throw bar already centred for easy installation and it has three “break before make” changeover switches. One is a low power SPDT switch linked to the Cobalt iP drive power directly to allow easy connection of low current lighting (for example panels or signals) or for linking to your computer or system control to report turnout position. The other two are super high power SPDT switches suitable for up to 5 amps continuous power handling and so are usable for frog polarity, interlocking or many similar applications.
Because Cobalt-IP “Intelligent Power” Analogue motors are switched with reversing DC power, if you wish to use LEDs for control panel indication they can simply be put in-line with power leads! You can then use all the switching for other layout needs.
You can also have it both ways with the Cobalt iP. Just add digital control with our Cobalt ADiA accessory decoders and still retain the ability for both conventional control panel as well as DCC or computer control at any time!
All of this – with a lifetime warranty!
